As an HTML and CSS developer I am in charge of developing, updating, testing, and refining WordPress websites and applications.
About HTML and coding
HTML dates back to the early nineties. I started as an HTML developer in 1996, and between 1998 and 2005 I built dynamic websites in dreamweaver, which also led me to become more interested in PHP/MySQL, but also client-side, such as Flash and ActionScript. In 2005 I discover WordPress and started using that CMS system.
In addition, the possibilities for creating websites using CSS were expanded, as browsers increasingly supported CSS starting in 2002. At that time, JavaScript was used less than today and Dynamic HTML was often used as a set of technologies until the arrival of DOM scripts in 2005, creating structure in client-side code. Mainly because of this, the term “front-end developer” took on more and more shape and became a separate discipline around 2006.
Me as a html front end developer
What do I offer as a html front end developer:
- I stay up-to-date in front-end development, but also knows that choices have to be made regularly.
- I work both within a team and independently. Collaboration is usually also necessary at the intersection of back-end, UI/UX, front-end and business analysis.
- I am directly applicable knowledge in the field of HTML5 (HTML), CSS and JavaScript: experience with JavaScript/TypeScript environments, knowledge of JavaScript libraries/frameworks.
- Browsers offer increasingly better techniques aimed at interaction and layout areas such as CSS grid layout, flexbox and I use these. I prefer to work with CSS grid areas.
- I have built up a lot of experience in developing websites that adapt to mobile phones, tablets and desktop computers. Therefore websites have to work responsively in 2026.
- I deploy unit testing and AB testing
- I have 12+ years of experience with the agile/scrum method.
- I go for a good working environment where a personal match is important.
- I work with a pragmatic view and see what is the fastest way to get things done. For now and the long future.
